‘Jubilee’, biblically speaking, is the year of freedom and liberation for the believers of God. For all those in debt, imprisoned, in suffering, and weary, this is the declaration of freedom to them. We are the ones that are imprisoned by our sinful nature, and confined by our pasts. Jesus Christ, the Lord of Sabbath, came to us declaring the true peace and rest of God for all people.
Jubilee College of Music follows Olivet University’s mission statement to “prepare individuals to serve Jesus Christ, and to carry the burden of others.” It is to strengthen our relationship with Jesus Christ, and to guide others to His saving grace.
Religion is the essence of culture, and culture is a form of religion. The center of Christian music is and always will be the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and music is the form of worship that Christians can give to God. For Jubilee College of Music, this is the foundation of all course curriculums, emphasizing the importance and necessity to reveal the Gospel through all music, both lyrically as well as musically. All students will be equipped with extensive knowledge and skill to proclaim the Gospel through music, and will become the forerunners in the development of Christian music today.
Jubilee College of Music offers a means for people with musical talent to explore and expand their gifts to greater glorify God and to use it for His will. By offering a wide range of courses taught by distinguished faculty, students will demonstrate professional proficiency encompassing the main genres and styles of music of the past to present. In doing so, students will proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
